Your top notch tips are just like life saving drugs for going to dead sites and I think by following this method we can save our sites. How often we should spin our articles? This is the question which I needed to ask. I think submitting the same article in all directories can earn duplicate content penalty.

I just started my internet life 2 years ago and am doing something very very big in my life which I haven't even thought. Although I know a lot about Internet marketing and there are many more tricks other than article marketing. I think if we want to do it genuinely then there is nothing better than articles and article marketing.

Matt, you have a sound and excellent article marketing strategy. I'd like to share some of my own tips:

Tip # 1 - Make it personal.

Write the article like you're directly teaching the reader on a one-on-one basis. Use "you" or "your" more often because these words focus on the reader and grab attention.

Tip # 2 - Write whatever ideas come to your mind.

Some people get conscious about grammar or structure when they write, that it hinders the free flowing of thoughts. To offset this, just write anything that pops into your head, without paying attention to grammar or organization. After squeezing the last ounce of idea from your brain, that's the time to organize, rewrite or edit your article to perfection.

Tip # 3 - Make it easy for the reader.

Don't use difficult words. Some writers try to impress the reader with difficult or technical words; what they don't know is that they are only discouraging the reader from reading further because people want to avoid complicated matters at all cost. Remember the popular KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid).

Tip # 4 - Never sell in the article itself.

Articles are effective pre-selling tools, meaning they can be used to successfully pre-sell something (through the author bio or resource box) if the content is quality or helpful. However, selling anything in the article itself will only turn down potential buyers. Give beneficial content in the article and use it as a pre-seller; then the author bio or resource box will do the rest.

Tip # 5 - Articles should be based on facts or research.

If you're going to give an opinion, make sure it does not go against any proven facts, figures or statistics. Facts are solid; opinions vary.

Tip # 6 - The author bio or resource box should be related (or at least semi-related) to the article topic.

If you're describing a persuasion website in your author bio or resource box, don't write an article about "how to improve your basketball skills." Instead, write an article related to the topic such as persuasion, negotiation, body language, or assertiveness. You may also write semi-related articles on topics such as public speaking or confidence building (these topic samples are all related to self-improvement).

Tip # 7 - Maintain your focus.

The more articles you make, the more money you also make. Although an effective strategy in affiliate marketing, article writing is not a get-rich quick tactic; but when you consistently write articles as a habit and make them available online (by submitting to the top article directories and ezine publishers), you will reap positive long-term results.

Hope this helps,
Michael Lee

The most important thing about article marketing is strategy.

It is not enough that you write an article about a subject. The key element is WHY you are writing the article.

The way i see it, you write articles about a subject to cover keywords that people search in google which can make you money, by doing this you're telling Google that you're website has value and you'll elevate through the rankings a little.

By picking out choice keywords people are searching for, creating a page on your website dedicated to that keyword and then creating articles linking back to that page you're ensuring that when people search for your keyword, they will find your website.

That is one good reason people use articles to market and also why a lot of newbies feel they're not doing something right.

A Sure Bet Way to get Triple the Visitors to your Ezine Article

Here is my simple but effective strategy:

I have a Platinum status membership with EZA and about 530 articles published.I usually get my articles published within 24-48 hours. The key is TO TIME THE RELEASE AS BEST YOU CAN. Articles that get published after 3:45pm (CST)(give or take 30 minutes) have a great shot at being placed on the
"Other Recent Ezine Articles from the ABC: Category." Those articles will usually get 2-3 times the clicks an article released earlier in the day
would. There is a domino effect that takes place here as often these articles that get maximum exposure at the onset will end up on "The
Most Viewed" section. Those articles end up in the thousands viewed and usually end up with about 10 -20 sales a piece.

A good example of how this happens is found in my credit article that is found at the bottom of the page on the link:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Credit-Cards---How-to-Stop-Riding-the-Roller-Coaster-of-Debt&id=1386691

If you scroll to the bottom, you will see at the #1 position "3 Ways to ... ." That same article can be found right below that in the section called "Most Published." This double whammy has meant over 3,000
views for the one article initially released at about 4:00pm. That same article has had about a 45% click thru rate.

The beauty of this is that you can write 1/3 of the mount of articles and get the same results.
So, now the all important questions exists, "How do you time the article to be released in such manner?" I recommend the following protocol:

Write an article and when finished hit the "save" button, not the "submit" button. It will end up in your "draft status." After 48 hours,
edit the article by going back into it and then hit "Submit." Do this at 3:30 - 4:00pm and if the day's submission deadline passes without it
being published then edit again and save as draft again. Try the same thing the next day with the article.

Another way to accomplish this is to periodically submit an article with a "minor problem," such as: An article in all caps, keyword stuffing, or
an inactive link. I am not suggesting this method but it is one more means by which you can bring relative control to your article timing.
The bottom line is that you will not always be able to release at the end of the day but this method will help and in the end is well worth it.

The Timing Method on Steroids

One of the best ways to get an article on the catapulting "Most Viewed List" is to get your article released on a late Friday afternoon. If your niche is solid then you should be able to get 300 - 500 views in this time period alone. Expect even better results if you get your article out on a holiday weekend.
