Are you looking to increase your list and are finding that your current methods just aren’t working? No worries, a little patience and hard work is all you need. There are many things you can do to boost the amount of subscribers you get to your list. Here are 5 email marketing tips you can use to explode your list.

Email Marketing Tip # 1

Create a squeeze page to capture subscribers: You need to make a separate page aside from your static website or blog to capture subscribers. This page should capture the readers attention by highlighting all of the benefits. Use bullet points to list what the reader will be gaining by entering their name and email. Also be sure to add a note at the bottom of the squeeze page that says something about the fact that their name and email will not be shared or sold and that you hate spam as much as they do.

Email Marketing Tip # 2

Market your squeeze page in traffic exchanges: This can be a very effective method, especially because traffic exchanges aren’t much good for anything else. Some traffic exchanges allow a certain number of ads unless you pay to have more. To be as effective as possible, place as many ads as you can, and have them all link back to your squeeze page. Try different ads and different squeeze pages to see what is most effective. And enroll in several different traffic exchange programs as well.

Email Marketing Tip # 3

Place the opt-in sign up box in the most optimal places: Mainly above the fold where it is visible to all. Having the opt-in below the fold will not be as effective because many people never scroll down to see it.

Email Marketing Tip # 4

Market the squeeze page using pay-per click advertising: The main search engines offer advertising programs called PPC or pay-per click advertising. It allows you to advertise whatever landing page you choose, even your squeeze pages. You must be very careful though when using PPC programs. If done the wrong way you can end up paying money for a lot of non targeted hits that will result in little or no results. Do some research before you delve into PPC advertising.

Email Marketing Tip # 5

Create an info product and give it away to boost your list: If you can create something of value, you can offer that product for free to boost your list. Tell people in forums about the product and you’ll get sign-ups.

What works best is to ask some big time joint venture partners to see if they would be so kind to offer it to their list as well. One way to approach a jv partner is to do a little research first, see if they have a product and if they do, buy it, make a blog post about it, and send a mail to your list promoting it. Then when you email them, let them know you have been promoting their products and that you would be thrilled if they could return the favor. It is a free product after all that would benefit their members as well.

Use all five of these email marketing tips religiously and I will guarantee you will see your list explode to enormous proportions.

Best,

All Internet Marketers Need a Squeeze Page

Posted by Matt Helphrey | increasing your opt in | Thursday 4 September 2008 12:36 am

If you do not have a squeeze page, you will not make as much money as you could.

I know some of you are wondering what a squeeze page is and how you can create one. Both are very easy answers…

First, a squeeze page is simply a web page dedicated solely to capturing a visitors name and email address in order to compile a list. Once you have a nice list compiled you can market to those individuals for as long as they remain on your list.

Think about what a big list can mean to your online business. Let us digress for a moment…

Let’s say you have been building a list over a few years and now have 10,000 people signed up. Over the course of that time you have been building a rapport with those same people and they trust what you say and trust what you have to offer. This is your goal as as an authoritative voice for whatever email marketing campaign you are running. Once they trust you, you will get a higher conversion rate for the offers that you bring.

Let’s say again that you are going to send an email promoting a product selling for $250 and it is an affiliate product offering a 50% commission. The conversion rate for the product ends up being a mediocre 1%. You could probably do better than 1% with a few follow up emails, but we’ll just say 1% for now.

So, 1% of 10,000 is 100 people buying a $250 product of which you will receive $125. That’s a whopping $25,000 after one email sent! Not bad for a few minutes work.

I hope you see now the absolute financial power that a big list can provide. And those numbers are just a 1% conversion. It doubles to $50,000 for a 2% conversion rate. Thats more than many college graduates make in an entire year!

It all starts first though with creating an effective squeeze page. Building one is easy and only takes just a few minutes to do now thanks in large part to computer software programs that can do it for us.

An effective squeeze page should not be too flamboyant. You want the words to do the talking. Make bullet points of all the bonuses and also point the value of the bonuses.

Once you have your squeeze page up and ready to go, it’ all about putting it where people are going to see it. The more traffic you get to it, the more sign ups you are gong to get.

You can market your squeeze page just like you do with your blog and websites, only squeeze pages can be marketed much more effectively on traffic exchanges. Pay per click advertising done correctly may be effective as well.

To get the number of sign ups in the thousands like I was speaking of in the example above, you are going to need the help of others. Joint venture projects are a great way to multiply your opt in numbers.

You can either pay a few people who have massive lists to advertise to their list, or you can create a product and give them a share of the profit for the sales they bring in. Either way, when you release a product, you should always ask for the potential customers name and email address first before they receive any “inside” information. Even if you don’t have much success with the sale of the product, at least you will have increased your subscriber list.

These are just some ways to really boost your list by using a squeeze page. If you really want to boost your list use every method in the book, then come up with your own methods on top of that.

5 Ways To Increase Your Opt-In List

Posted by Matt Helphrey | increasing your opt in | Sunday 17 August 2008 3:36 pm

The opportunity to have a list of customers that are interested in what you have to offer is priceless. Think about the possibilities of mailing over 5,000 people a product or service that they might be interested in. It’s like having your own personal atm machine that you can tap into whenever you need some money.

Let’s say for example that you do have 5,000 people enrolled in your newsletter/opt-in and you decide to send out an email promoting a $50 product. Let’s say again that out of the 5,000 people, only 1% buy the product or service. That’s 50 people buying a $50 product and it will gross you $2,500!

That’s a pretty good day at work if you ask me. The only problem that remains though is to get your opt-in list to 5,000 people. Here are five ways to help you increase your opt-in list.

1. Create a lead capture page. It would be wise for you to create a separate page with only a sign-up form on it. Your lead capture page should let your visitor know exactly what they will be gaining or getting by signing up for free. Always over give. Heres an example

2. Place a sign-up form on the top of all your pages that receive regular traffic. This includes your main index page and any blogs that you are running too. You just want to make sure that all of your visitors are able to see the sign-up form. Make them keenly aware that all they have to do to receive free stuff is sign their name and address.

3. Advertise your lead capture page on traffic exchanges. Lead capture pages work well on traffic exchanges because most people are just blindly clicking on pages. If you are offering something for free it is more likely that they will take it.

4. Use a pop up ad to catch peoples attention. A small pop up asking for the visitors name and email can prove to be a very effective way to increase your op-in list.

5. Last but not least…Create a product that people absolutely need, then give it away for free. Easier said than done, I know I’m struggling with it myself. But there is an infinite amount of products that people desire, and if you think of it like that, it makes it much easier to find something to start with.

Michael Jordan said, “I only succeed because I have failed so many times.” Of course we only know Jordan of what he has succeeded with and hardly know of any of his failures.

My point is this…Once you create a product that can benefit someone, you can market that to your peers, and your peers will pitch it to their audience…all you have to ask for in return is their name and email address. Your op-in list will rocket… then, rinse and repeat. Learn from your mistakes and move on.
